The Cryer family legacy goes back to the 1920’s when our great grandfather, Leon Vernon, purchased the land which nearby neighbors helped the family to farm. After his passing, one of his (2) daughters, our grandmother, Ardene Vernon, married Thomas Cryer, our grandfather and he took over the farming business. Ardene and Thomas had 10 children. As children, the Cryer brother’s and sisters farmed alongside their dad. After Mr. Cryer's death in the late 1990’s, his son Aulton Cryer decided to move back home to Louisiana from California and re-establish the family farming business. Upon his return he established a new farmers market in the community of Franklinton. Since the 90’s Mr. Aulton Cryer continued the legacy of his father and became a pillar in the community. He provides some of the best tasting, freshest home grown, organic produce that his customers just love. They trust the quality of his produce and support him on regular basis. Since his return to Louisiana he has attracted the eye of some of the younger family members and now his nephew Ralph is there growing produce with him along with his son Tony, Daughter, Tonya, Niece Aerielle and some of the other family help with getting the produce out to the other farmers markets they frequent weekly. There is no excuse not to have healthy food when they are available 7 days a week. Click the link below to see their schedule and what they have to offer.
